Some bacteria/viruses do not spread as quickly (some can't survive the cold at all) where it is cold which is why Dr's officers & hospitals tend to be cold. This is not the case for all germs so keeping your home a bit colder will not keep you safe. Plus, it does you no good to keep your home colder if you go anywhere else. Most people get theiier illnesses from shopping carts, shaking hands, keyboards, and other shared items. Unless you are a complete germ freak and are very particular about washing your hands, cleaning items before you touch them, etc you are still going to get sick.
