Anyone else wonder HOW Fantasia Barrino won American Idol?

THANK YOU!! I am glad I am not the only one! She has an ok voice, very much like Macy Gray I think. Just not "winner worthy". If the Lifetime movie had at LEAST an actress playing her, I think I could have stomached it better you know? It is very sell out"ish" and seems so narssistic.

I must be hearing things or going senile or something cause I know you two are not trying to go off on my girl Fantasia. I mean seriously you two either need some serious hearing aids, your JEALOUS OR you two are racist. And the funny thing about that is, there are plenty of white people WHO LOVES fantasia. That girl Fantasia got more class than both of you put together. No offense. I mean come on now imagine, I thought there were some human beings left on earth. Most good hearted people would be happy for the girl, knowing that she came from nothing and now she has it all. You want to know how Fantasia won American Idol. Ok I'll tell you: Fantasia won Amercian Idol, BECAUSE SHE WAS BETTER THAN ALL OF THEM. Period. Better singer, better soul, and she feels her songs. She was way better than that Diana Degarmo girl. I mean I can't even believe that there was a sing off between the two. That's like comparing caviar and tuna. There is no comparison. My girl Fantasia IS THE BEST AMERICAN IDOL CONTESTANT EVER. Not the best American Idol contestant for that season 3 but THE BEST AMERCIAN IDOL CONTESTANT EVER AND FOREVER MORE. The only other person that I can say came close to matching Fantasias talent was my other girl on last years season 5 and her name is Paris Bennett. You remember her? That girl got a powerhouse voice. You can't mess with me now, I have been watching American Idol since the end of season 1 and I know everything there is to know about every American Idol contestant there is. Now where did the two of you get the crazy idea that Fantasia is not doing anything with her career. I mean seriously, are you two alright? Fantasia's career is blowing up and she's just getting started 1. Fantasia Came out with her first debut cd entitled," Believe" 2. Fantasia then came out with a second cd debut entitled," Free Yourself" 3. Fantasia has acted on several sitcom shows on tv 4. Fantasia came out with her very first movie last year called," Life is Not a Fairy Tale (The Fantasia Barrino Story)" Fantasia gets several tv shows and appearances including the *Today Show on channel 4 NBC with Matt Lauer, *The Tyra Banks show, *Regis and Kelly *The Tonight Show with Jay Leno *The Ellen Show *ABC, CBS, WB11, Fox 5, and NBC news *BET (Black Entertainment Television) I mean the list goes on and on and won't fit into this box 5. Fantasia just came out with her second HIT cd that just got released on December 12, 2006 called," Fantasia, (featuring her hit song," Hood Boi" As I did on American Idol and voted over 100 times for my girl Fantasia All I can say now is GO FANTASIA GO FANTASIA GO FANTASIA GO FANTASIA GO FANTASIA GO FANTASIA GO FANTASIA GO FANTASIA P.S, I'm curious, if you hate Fantasia so much, why do you even have her name as part of your mylot username? My advice, stop hating on Fantasia because she is more successful than you will ever be and so what if she had a baby? SO WHAT? Look at that pagaent girl for the Donald Trump pagaent. She is a fu*****g junkie and Donald Trump gave her another chance. I don't see you ranting and raving about that. Class? She is an unwed single mother--yeah that is classy!! WOOOHOO! Secondly, why does EVERYTHING with you people have to do with racism? News flash, everything isn't about you. There are plenty of others I do not feel are wow great and have no clue how they are so great. Did either of us say anything about race? I thought Rubin was good, but yes Clay was better. Perhaps it was the stage appeal, not sure. I didn't watch much of that season-not a huge American Idol fan. I just catch it now and then. This year, I stopped watching after 2 episodes, they were just to much into embarassing people and not showing the talent. Thanks for your responce!

Ok well I should clear this up, I have had the "fantasia" name for longer than Fantasia Burrino was alive. It was my nickname growing up and it also has to do with the Disney movie Fantasia. I thought of changing it due to Fantasia Burrino, but hey it was mine first and I personally don't care as people who know me know that I didn't start using this name for her. I rarely watch American Idol. Last season was the first season I really watched it...and it was only on elimination night. The singer you are thinking of was Chris Doughtrey *sp* and yes he was fantastic. I understand you point, one person must win and most of the others do get carreers. I am not saying that Fantasia wouldn't/shouldn't have a career, I am just saying that there were better contestants who should have been #1. I like Taylor Hicks, but he was not better than many of the others, heck Paris was awesome as was the other 16yr old girl who was booted off. Taylor has talent, yes...but to be the winner? Same as Fantasia.

well celestial_Fantasia, you have a point of saying that they embarrass people. Look, I am an American; I don't watch these shows because I feel like this: Only one person can win this show, and folks who might be otherwise talented, deserving and such, they'll lose. However, like I mentioned earlier, if these folks get to the TOP TEN of American Idol, more than likely, SOMEONE is DEFINITELY going to recognize them and give them the break they need; Look at Kimberly Locke; She was in the top four, and got booted and she has a CD and a print endorsement. I believe she was on the season with Rueben and Clay; Clay Aiken got a recording contract and he isn't on anyone's welfare line either; Bottom line, a choice for One winner has to be made; Fortunately, the voting is in the hands of the American people who wish to do so. Perhaps, you feel that our way of doing things is fishy; that's your opinion; Look at Tyler Hicks; There was another fella on there that folks thought he should have won, but a band went and snapped him up just like that(sorry, forgot his name), so it's not like these folks don't have the exposure to get where they need to go, they do. Mandisa was good(from last season) and someone told them right off that IF she does or doesn't get the American Idol, they STILL wanted her and WILL give her a contract. I could go and on, but you get the drift; I am a bit curious you are talking on a sister and call yourself by her name.

Yes she won American Idol, somehow. She wouldn't be known otherwise. She isn't a horrid singer, but compared to others on that show that season, there was something wrong with the American Public

I didn't say she didn't have any talent, just personally do not understand HOW she won against people like Jennifer Hudson and others. She just sounds like others out there, don't really think that she should have won when much better talent is out there.

Look, I hear what your saying; but I like to feel that God does things for people who deserve it; And to me in my estimation, she was at a point of her life when she was at an all time low, and she deserved it; I think about how it worked for her and not Jennifer, but let's look at it this way, if she had won(Jennifer Hudson) would she had been able to get Dreamgirls and the Oscar and all of that? Simon had dogged Jennifer out, and now I bet he has to change his tune because now this girl just blew up and he was wrong. But let us not forget that American Idol looks for a certain type of singer.American Idol was for Fantasia; Dreamgirls, though was for Jennifer Hudson; Both ladies are now enjoying careers without worrying where their next dollar is coming from; let's be glad for them.
