Five legged chihuahua born!

My friend breeds chihuahuas, and she had a litter born last night. One of the puppies has five perfectly formed legs! The extra leg is right behind the original back leg. Anyone ever seen any thing like that?

no. I have never seen or heard anything like it. what happens now? does the vet remove the extra leg?

She is taking him to the vet tomorrow, he may or may not remove it, not sure yet.He is a strong little guy though, the first one to mama at feeding time!

OMG I would love to see this. Did she take pictures? Are you getting one? She should show this to the world because it is rare.I wonder if it will affect the way it walks.Can you get me an invite to ChaCha?

She is supposed to send me pics in a day or so. I am going to wait until next litter to get one,then maybe we will be in the new house by then. And yes, I will get you a chacha invite. :)

never seen it but maybe she is over breeding or the relation between the 2 dogs mated is to close just a thought

Nope, it was only the second litter from her female...and the parents came from ddifferent areas of the state. :)
