Where should we put the Adsense ads to get best results?

I have read suggestions about where on the site it is best to place the Adsense ads so that people click on them. It is a big difference in results if you put the ads on the right or wrong place.
Has anyone tested this?

you can see some samples here. The best idea is to make it blend to the site. The links in this website gives you a better idea. Of course they are paying better than anything I have previously tried.
