Dear Friends, This has become usual in todays life. I think it happens in other countries too. Iam from India and in a normal week, I receive atleast 2-3 calls a day from a bank, credit card company or Loan / Insurance companies. I don't know how do they get the numbers and it has become a business nowadays. If I enquire them about my mobile, they simply say it is from the database. I don't know what database they refer and who gives them the number. Does it happen in your country too, please post your comments.

I get a couple of calls a week. I don't know if it works the same there as it does in canada, but I worked for a call center before selling credit cards. When they call and you say something like no thank you, they have to rebuttal you three times. But here in canada and the states too I think, if you say take me off the list, or put me on the do not call list, they can't rebuttal you and they have to take your name and number off the list. Like I said I don't know if it is the same there but hopefully this will help.

I would normally receive averagely around 2 to 3 calls per day from banks (claimed to banks but they are agents of the banks who are calling) to sell credit cards, loans, insurance, etc. I am fed up with these calls as they interfere me many times when I was busy with my work and annoy me a lot. They don’t even budge even if you say that you are not interested in their offer and starts to explain more about their card rather than discontinuing the conversation. But I have to tell you that I had even brought credit cards from the so-called sales pitch from these calls. I don’t know how they get our numbers, I feel that they have a numbers collecting unit in which they share the phone numbers of the customers and even sell it for a good price and ultimately we need to suffer.

What u r saying is right, they try to get the numbers for some mobile vendors or make random calls and try to get us in-line. The move they call they never stop and don't allow us to talk. Nowadays before they start their conversation, I immediately convey that "Iam not interested, please don't disturb me", sometimes they don't given time, we have to listen. They are also ppl working for their fortune. I think these type of issues are there in all part of the world.

try telling them to put you on the do not call list. they can't hang up if you say you're not interested. they have to rebuttal you at least three times.

same problem we are also facing and same if we ask where u get the no. same thing they said that from their database . 1) some times they asked us our friend or relatives no. requesting again and again we tell them our relative no. and friend no. its possible they will insert our contact no. in yellow pages or some internet business directories .where every company whether it is insurance , bank , credit card get our no.

What u do generally, u avoid or entertain. I have a simple logic for this type of calls, suggested by one of my frieds. Please ask them a question "I will accept your card, can u pay for the transaction which I make on Credit Card", once u ask such questions to the agent he will never call again. I don't think this credit card companies don't have a centrallized system for updating the response which they receive from the customers like us.

Please tell me from which country u r. Is it true. In India it is becoming a regular practise, where the bank representatives (agents ) keep calling daily. Even if u have two cards, they try to offer another card with more credit value and other benefits. But maximum I will try to avoid bcoz my credit card has been mis-used in an on-line transaction and I lost around $49.95. Be very careful while during online transactions with credit cards.

fortunately i don`t have received any calls from banks. but I know the sistem they get your mobile phone number.they ask every person they are speaking to give them some refferals , and every person give at least 1-2 but there are many which can give more than 100 or 1000 if they negociete this. i hope you understood how the sistem works.
