Hello Myloters, I was just thinking about the policy of copy and pasting, how it's not right. The original person should get credit for it. So whats the difference when people use images off the net? Is it any different? I know when I reach 500 points, I will want to use images to earn more money. Any thoughts

example of copy and paste - taking credit for others is wrong and I am always surprised that it happens, it is so traceable.
OK, I agree that not before 500 gets you the privelege of posting pictures. I am so thankful I got to 500 before they changed that. The copy and paste business is pure laziness on the part of the wrong poster. I investigate one today and found them to be from another country and perhaps their command of English was poor. That still does not help them to learn. It happened in on of my discussions today and I reported it. They copied from the discussion only 2 posts away. Well they were deleted. Images though are another story. Pretty much anything on the net is public domain or reachable even by bad guys. Rights to pictures though are stated, I have run across a few and I respect that. Pictures sure do add to your oveall amount. Happy posting and I look forward to more discussions from you!!

Thanks you seem to understand what I am asking. Say the topic is about..........Pot and pans ( first thing that came to mind LOL ) Can I go to target.com and save the image and use that? How do I Know if there rights to it?

I posted a lot of photos from the Internet when I first started here. I always used images that were very relevant to the discussion, but then MyLot sent an alert to users about using copyrighted images in posts, and I didn't want to risk violating copyright laws. Now I am extremely careful about the images that I upload; they are either my own photos, free clip-art, or they clearly state that there is no copyright. I have seen no difference in my earnings with or without uploading images, to tell you the truth.

I use imagines off the net, for like my interests and stuff, It is different when people copy and paste pictures then for copying other peoples posts (that is what i think at least, but i think there is a policy about pictures and where they come from)

I am not sure but I don't think you are suppose to use any copyrighted photos.

bterrier, if you copy and paste something from the internet, it should be to substantiate a point you're making. That's the reason we post photos too, to back up something we're saying. It's unfair if someone copies and pastes something and makes out that it's their own thinking on a subject without giving credit to whoever wrote the original piece. Most of the copying and pasting that people dislike here though is done by people copying and pasting other myLotters' responses to subjects. Now, that is completely unfair as the first mylotter will have been the one to have thought out the response.
