How come people ask for advice here?

I've done it, you've probably done it, but why? People on mylot are nice and all, but asking them for advice on dating and stuff, is it really practical?

Some people needs to hear/read many opinions about their problems before making up their minds and some are clear about their choices but just want more confidence when they are being told that their choice is correct. I also find that many members at mylot fake problems and situation just to get many responses and to have popular discussions.

I've read people who do that. They usually are caught right away, and man, with some of the bs they come up with, it's unbelievable anyway.

ive never asked about dating etc, i have asked a few questions on mylot and it was really useful and people helped me out alot, i wouldn't say no to asking anything on mylot! :O)

i do believe that stating your problems somehow here for discussions, makes one's feeling better. we get to know thoughts and opinions from people all around the world. it is somehow practical especially if one cannot open up to people they know personally and the only outlet to speak out their minds is through discussions here in this site.

I guess that's true. I feel better when I write down how what's bothering me, and I guess when people need to talk with someone other than the people around them, this place is great. Still, I don't know about putting my felings out there for everyone to see.

I see nothing Wrong with it, as is this site not supposed to be a Discussion board type of site, just like in Forums where you share your thoughts and opinions with someone about what is going on in your life?
