Do you choose to go vacation to the beach or to the mountain?

When it comes to a vacation, I will virtually go anywhere as the idea is to relax and get away from the day to day routine. I would prefer the mountain over the beach though for several reasons: 1. I don't swim...grew up far from water with a mom who didn't drive and our school had no pool so I never had the opportunity to learn 2. I burn very easily which is easy to do on a beach 3. I find sunbathing a colossal waste of time 4. I hate having sand everywhere 5. the sun is usually too bright to read while on the beach (I'm photosensitive) If I am in the mountains, I can hike nature trails or sit on a shaded bench and read.

I prefer the beach. I love the sea view very much and I like to watch the sunrise/sunset. I am not that adventurer that I will climb a mountain with my kid on tow, to watch the sunrise though...

I agree with you Rasnie, me too I prefer the mountain, but I have a little child now and he needs the sun, a lot of sun, so we go to the beach every year. We go to Cervia (a bathing town near me) from the 9th of June to the 30th of June and we go to Sicily from the 1st of August to the 23rd of August because my parents in law live there. Also my wife loves the beach, so I'm forced to go to the beach every year, but when my little son will grow up, I think to go vacation alone.... :)
