which of newton law's of motion applies to this: a child releases an air filleted balloon that is not tied at the neck. explain.

the third law oof course stating that every action in this world has equal but opposite reaction. when he releases the balloon the gas filled inside escapes from the open mouth with some force and inreturn the same amount of force acts in the opposite direction moving the balloon forward. In the earlier days of modern rocketry scientists were doubtful that the rockets might not work in outer space coz there will be nothing for the exhaust gas to push on but they found out that its not needed the gas being thrown outwards even in free space is enough to provide enough reactive force to propell the spacecraft in the opposite direction i.e. forwards.
