i broke my collar bone? any advice?

hello. i broke my collar bone while playing football a week ago, i went to the hospital for an xray and they put me in a sling, but they did'nt tell me nothing about it, what to do, what not to do. have any of you suffered this sort of injury, if so please could you tell me more about it. i heard that the lump does'nt go, is that true?
