would you go for inflated job title or a specific job description?

i find it hard to figure out job profiles of inflated job titles. MD, AMD, VP, AVP, FO, CFO, CEO, COO, CEE...so many of them with specific work profile. so, most of the times, when an AVP get promoted to VP, he has hardly any change in the work he used to do. it's just a feel good factor with a salary hike..

I specific job description would be the better for then you would know exactly what is expected from you. More chance of success. Also if problems come up in the future you have your written description to refer to and back you up if it becomes a firing or legal situation. Best to be forearmed and work in confidence unless and until something would happen.
