Oprah

Funny I just responded to this in another topic earlier today. First of all I love Oprah and her show. I respect her so much and think she has done so much good for others. She really knows how to pay it back with good deeds. She has shown how a woman can be powerful and successful and a black woman at that. My question was when was the turning point for her. I mean I remember when she first started and she was more like a Phil Donohue in the audience letting them ask questions. But boy have things changed. I just don't remember the how and why. My daughter bought me the 20th Anniversary DVD's and I have to watch them and see if it sheds any light on this.

She built her success on having topics that interest people and doing many good things for people that were far less fortunate than her. Most recently she opened up a 40 million dollar academy for disadvantaged girls in South Africa. A promise that she had to made to Nelson Mandela 6 years ago. A second school is being planned exclusively for boys.
