The following are some thoughts and feelings about the movie "An Inconvenient Truth"...and how I recommend you seeing it if you haven't already. I don't know about you but I'm very concerned with how we humans are drastically changing this planet. I'm sure, growing up, many of you like myself have been told to recycle and turn the water off when not in use.. and plant trees in place of those that you cut down.. and yada yada as if it hasn't been emphasized enough.. but, is it really measuring up to the global warming trend that's happening so fast it seems as if there's really nothing we can do about it? That we've really dug ourselves a hole for our children and our children's children? Yeah.. people all over the world are complaining of droughts.. and tsunamis.. and hurricane katrinas killing off millions of innocent people. When you get right down to it though, we as a human race are the culprit! Especially the U.S. Don't get me wrong, but I love this country and I love everything that's good that we stand for.. but what is our Congress.. our politicians doing about our future(environmentally)? The U.S. is the biggest contributor to the global warming trend. Just as those environmentalists are getting mad about the polar bears dying off and turning to cannibalism to eat one another because there's no food.. b/c there's not enough ice for them to get around because the polar ice caps are melting at miles per second.. they are probably in turn.. just like any other human being driving around in those Big Ginormous SUVS that have the highest emissions concentration ever.. which of course is what's heavily contributing to the global warming effect. Why can't Congress turn around and stop the car manufacturers from making high emissions vehicles? Why must we depend on foreign oil to.. or oil to be exact to fuel our vehicles? Why can't they just tell the car manufacturers to start manufacturing cars that use ethanol instead of oil or make them all at least low emission vehicles?! If you haven't seen the movie yet.. go out and rent it. It's going to make you think(hopefully more than that).. just as it has for me.
