Have you found out you enjoy your children more now they are grown?

I love having conversations and friendships with my grown children! They turned out to be pretty interesting people despite their crazy mama! LOL

You are wrong here estherlou. Their mama is crazy because of her kids, or at least that is what I tell our son. LOL Yes it is wonderful to have good conversations with our son and we are very close, but always have been too, so that hasn't changed as he has grown into adulthood. He has affectionately known us as "old people" since he was in his early teens. He still continues in that vein today, so most of his friends also know who he means when he refers to us in that manner. However that is okay because I often refer to him as "the child", despite the fact that he is now 31. He has an interesting life and talks to us about it regularly plus he also shares his views and opinions on a variety of subjects. It is so interesting to realise that this child of ours can be so well informed. Amazing. :)

I like my three year olds convertation very much, he calls us bum-bears and willwake you up screaming tickle as he launches an attack, he's more fun than when he was a baby. My seven year old isharder to get on with and I get ignored or rebelled at often, maybe he'll like me enough to get to know me one day, I try, I really do but he's hard work, bless him.

Yes, you are right...it has been too long. I forgot this age. It is a special time. Enjoy it, because it doesn't last long.

Yes and no to be honest I enjoyed my Children all the way through, I loved watching things they did, they learned, how they where growing and how they have turned out. My Kids and I are very close and we have taken it all hard since I have moved down here, but it is for the best on my Health and they know I am happy here. My Daughter is here for a couple of Days at the moment and I know there will be tears when she goes back but we are getting used to it. And I will be going to see them in 2 weeks I hope.

That is the worst part about your children growing up and starting their own families! My son, wife and 4 grandkids live in Louisiana, which is not too close to Texas! The grandkids have pretty much grown up without knowing us. We get to see them maybe once a year, but it's not like living close. It is wonderful when they get to visit, isn't it?

My son is 22 and although I do enjoy the conversations with him, I still miss the days of his childhood. But he fixed that problem and blessed me with two grandsons. So now I have the best of both worlds. And payback is oh so sweet.lol

oh do you mean that there is hope for me. I have two kids which the husband wanted, i dnot exactly hate the idea of kids and i dont exactly hate the ones we have but believe me i cant waite till they grow up, when theyre about 16 i think we might be better friends, when we can have decent conversations, stuff like that.

No, when they are 16, they are either crazy or think they know more than you do! They are not real people yet then! LOL It is later that I was talking about!

kids on the bench - our children are our hopes, dreams and realities. such potential
My children are half grown now. I have enjoyed them at each stage they have grown to. Some surprises however I have often wished they could stay at the age they were and are!! I am interested in what they will do when they grow up, howver my daughter is showing me that she will write books. She is about to publish her first one. She has several in the works. My son shows indications of many things that he could do however it is still up in the air as he grows more. Will be interesting and hopefully they will despite their current thoughts make me a grandmother. Now that will be another story..lol
