Doing what you like

I've always heard people say that they won't work somewhere that they don't enjoy what they do. How can people be so privilaged as to be able to make that decision? I'd love to work somewhere where I absolutely loved what I did day after day. That simply isn't the case. I love the fact that my coworkers and I all get along well. There is minimal cattyness at my job and I even love some of the things that I do. But to say that I live and breath for customer service is just silly. Do you love your job? How did you come about to choose your proffession? My job was just a twist of fate. I applied for it at my husbands suggestion and was called 3 days later to start and 6 years later, I am told I am the best CSR that the company has. (good for me yay!) I'm just not in love with the job though. is that enough to quit or should i be a grown up and suck it up and go on. We don't always get what we want anyway right?

Freedom And Peace to you, Pennycan! :) I know the situation that you are in very well... For years, I put up with a job that I didn't like until I was smart enought to get out on my own. You don't have to that these days what with the Internet and all... People are becoming Virtual Assistants and are making great money for it, while doing what they love... You love customer service, and a Virtual Assistant job, is customer service on Steroids! You can go to http://www.business.com and look it up... I'm keeping an eye out for you, I want you to win in Life, so that you and your family can florish! :)

Don't quit a job until you have another one. Check and see if you enjoy where you are well enough to stay there, or are you brave enough to jump "out of the frying pan, into the fire"? I always am looking, even though I like my job a lot. There is always the chance I will find something better.

i think it's really fate that is keeping me at my job. for some reason, i have had 3 job offers now that have fallen through. the grass sure looks greener on the other side though.
