Freedom to a nation like the United States of America, is of unique significance and interesting features. For one thing, America is a nation conceived in freedom: It inherited and developed the idea from Ancient Anglo-Saxon and European heritage in the nation-making and nation-developing process. For another, the idea of freedom is never a replica of other mold. Instead, it is freedom absolutely American. Thus, the American freedom, owing to the two characteristics, has been playing its double-faceted role: benefit-generator and pain-carrier. The former is a blessing for the genuine freedom at home, the latter is a reminder of the imposed freedom abroad. What do you think of American freedom?
