You must have a good antivirus and firewall. You shouldn't use Internet Explorer as a browser because it has many security problems. You should download mozzila firefox. This browser is very good. After you have this browser go to their website and search for some security addons. I have all these things installed and I don't have any problems with viruses and other stuff.

Yes in the Present world, it is must that we have secure our desktop PCs. If u r using Microsoft Windows, then the first thing you have to do is patches and updates. Microsoft has lot of loop holes compared to other operating systems in the world, so better to update the patches on time.
