Aside from it being cheating and against the guidelines, if you're too lazy to write your own discussions and feel the need to spam this place by cutting and pasting someone else's work in order to start a horde of discussions, at least have the courtesy to give the person credit or place it in quotations. I don't care if you're just posting a "letter" with helpful tips to show others or actually trying to pull it off as your own, I think it's pretty cheap to do it in the first place. Not stating that it was written by someone or, better yet, mentioning that person's name is like taking even more credit for their work and a slap in the face. I've had work stolen from me with the profession that I'm in, and nothing ticks me off more than seeing someone else take the credit for my work. What's worse is that you're doing it for money...very little money at that. Show some consideration.

it is very corrupt on the part of people doing plagiarism. and i am totally against them. i had started one discussion and later noticed that a similar discussion already existed on mylot. i was feeling too lowly because of this. although i had not copied from that particular discussion, other mylotter might not have the same view if they come across both the discussions. and i might get branded as plagiarist, which i never want to.

It is difficult not duplicating a topic here, especially with how many people our within the mylot community. I don't think that much can be help, though, considering there are really so many things that one can talk about with such a massive amount of people. Reminds me of songs artists will write (or even authors) and hearing a very similar melody or lyric that matches another song. To me, that's fine if you bring up a topic that's already been posted, chances are everyone has or does, but yeah...the literal copying of a discussion here by another, or from the net, is just wrong. Heck, I'm still seeing it 5 to 6 months later. Thanks for your response. :)

That's what the ! option is in the ratings... If you like the response give it a plus, if you don't give it the - and if it's copied report them eith the !... One of the people I met on here has been methodically looking for the cheaters and started the MLPD check out his post sometime he writes a lot of funny stuff doubleb66... After they are reported a couple times, they are booted from the site!

Yeah, I've been reporting what I've seen, but not sure it's doing any good lol. I didn't realize double66 had a group going, though, but I just asked to join. He's part of the reason why I started up on it more actively than I had in the beginning. Thanks for the heads up :)

Yes, it's unfair and wrong all together. It's sad to see how many people are doing it here just to make a few pennies. Thank you!

I am so with you. I agree 100%. People just do it for money. They don't care. I really hate these types of people. It';s just plain, flat out wrong. It doesn't make you a lot of money neither. Anyways, everybody enjoy your stay at the site!

I don't think there's any profit in copy/paste on MyLot, for the ones who post it, or for the ones who respond to it. If a discussion is deleted, the people who respond get those points taken away from them. and obviously the people who posted get their points taken from them too. Profits will go down.
