bad breath

how can one get rid of bad breath? i know of someone who has it, and he insists he brushes very well. i am told that it could be as a result of shutting your mouth for a longer period of time. is this true?

It could be but normaly the smell wouldn't be very strong if it was cause by the reason you mention. Probably he have a broken teeth within.
