How many of u write a poem?

I do and I am proud of myself!

i don t write poems ..it is true that i tried but i don t think i have tooo much substance thta's why i don t want to try anymore ..but i wish a lot of succes to those that have nice ideas and want ot put them on paper!!!

I used to write alot of haikus and spoken word poetry a few years ago. With spoken word I would focus on alot of similes, wordplay and unique rhyme schemes. I was actually pretty good at one point, but I ended up losing interest because I had severe writers block.

Not since college.

I do. Unfortunately I don't have time to write poetry as often as I did before. Now if only people appreciated poetry more, maybe I could make a living out of it. Sometimes I find it harder to write poetry than a short story.

I like to write poems but I don't very often. Sometimes a thought comes to mind so strongly or a feeling that I can't seem to express my feelings in voice, so I write a poem. I don't share most of them, they are personal to me. There are many techniques to writing poetry but to me worrying about how to present a thought stagnates me as I worry more about being correct than about expressing my inner being. Therefore I never try to enter them in anything.

I do! I think writing poetry is very therapeutic for me and really helps to get my feelings and emotions out! I have a few up on poetry.com.

i like to write lyrics and lyrical poetry thats kind of rhyming poetry to music you know the type you get in bars and smoky cafes to jazz or other ambient music i also like hip hop and commercial song writing but not really standard poems
