Airplanes...

United States

I have never been on an airplane to any place. I will now have to ride on one in about 2 weeks for a job interview. I am really nervous! Can anyone offer any -basic- airline advice and other stuff? Some I have include: - I cannot read in a moving car because I get motion sickness, will I still get sick if I read on an airplane? - How big can my personal 'on board' bag be? I was going to bring one bookbag..... - Window or aisle seat? - Will I have trouble at the airport, as far as finding my terminal and switching to different planes if I don't have a one way route? Is everything clearly labeled? Thanks!

I suggest buying some Earplanes to wear inside your ears. They are small plastic screw like things that you insert into your ears before the flight takes off. They stop motion sickness and discomfort or pain in your ears. Try to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare. Then check in your bags early, requesting a window seat away from the wing if possible. You can take a small holdall bag as hand luggage. Airlines tennd to be picky about what they allow on board. Scissors are definately not allowed. Check the board to see which gate your flight will board at. Drink plenty of water whilst on your flight. I hope that you have a very nice and relaxing first flight. Remember if you can't find where you need to go in the airport ask someone.

I dont know about the motion sickness thing. Sometimes i get motion sickness if i am a passenger in a car for too long, but sometimes not. actually, it usually only happens when i am riding with my family for whatever reason. haha, that's weird anyway, take window unless you have to use the restroom a lot your carry-on bag has to be able to fit under the sit in front of you. sometimes airports are a little confusing, but generally everything is clearly labeled. you will be fine. where is your job interview?

You might want to wear those Earplanes brand ear plugs. They really help me when I fly. When I don't wear them, I develop a floaty sensation where I feel as though I'm going up and down in an elevator all day. It's most annoying.
