Er...I am a middle school student in Sichuan province..I am not very good at English,so if I have some mistakes with my sentences, excuse me.... I think Taiwan is a part of China.China is his motherland . Beacause of the wars,Taiwan left his mother. I know, this resualt isn't the purpose of Taiwan. In fact, everyone needs peace, the people just want to live in happy living .Just the goverment, they don't want to be a part of China....We shouldn't have any bad feelings to each other, we are Chinese, you are not Taiwanese....we need to think twice before we do anything . We just need peace not goverment. we should throw away our personal feelings, the distance between China and Taiwan shouldn't be lived in the modern times..They need to be pushed away...

I think that is very ignorant thinking - especially since the government knows better than to use force to take over Taiwan. Who are you to say that China will use force? If you study the history of Taiwan China is WAY DOWN THE LIST in who should own the Island. Taiwan has its own government, collects its own taxes, uses its own taxes for its own purposes, has its own military, issues its own passports, etc. - it is not currently a part of China otherwise all of those things would be impossible.

Well many Taiwanese would not agree with you and China has been very imperialistic in the past, invading Tibet whilst it was a sovereign country and a British protectorate, destroying the way of life there and deposing the Dali Lama. Is it any wonder Taiwan would fear China? It is only protection form US that prevents a Chinese invasion at the moment all the best urban

I have to disagree with you. First of all, there are original Taiwanese that live in Taiwan - similar to Native Americans in the United States. Also, from what I remember, the rulers of Taiwan was Japan. When the treaty between Japan and the USA was signed after World War 2 the Japanese agreed to leave. The Japanese did take the island from China but China wasn't the first ones here either. There were other ruling countries before China as well. I think Taiwan should remain Taiwan because they have a system set up that works. If China takes over Taiwan what benefits would China be able to add to Taiwan? I think those benefits would be very slim.
