People of Islam are forbidden to say Merry Christmas?

People of Islam are forbidden to say Merry Christmas and so to say the others religions'greetings? WHY?????

You are right. In our country, they (some of Muslim people) are forbidden to say Merry Christmas. I do not the reasons. Maybe coz of "kafir"

really??? hmm...i guess malaysia is a multi racial country and everyone respect each other's religion and belief. not only we can wish each other..we wear other religion's traditional dress too...like i do wear saree and malay dress occasionally!

You are right. In my country, some of people of Muslims is easy to say merry christmas to many christians. But some of them, say that saying merry christmas is "haram" (= forbidden). I think saying a greeting only is not a problem to everyone. It's a symbol of fraternity.

I say that´s the way it goes... If someone is not happy with it maybe should change religion. I´m Christian but not following all rules that it requires...

that's because by saying it you'll indirectly accept the christian's value. you know.. moslems and christians are different in so many things.

I think saying a greeting to someone in different religions, it does not meant that we have accepted the values of them. It is too simple arguments. Not essential for me.
