when you open your TV, what do you see? it's either you're watching some reality show or seeing disasters all over the globe on the news. the world, as we all know, is slowly dying. maybe it's his biological clock ticking away from its very existence or maybe man's abuse of the resources and its neglect on the very planet that nurtured them. how many people are living on this planet anyways? 8-9 billion people? we see people being struck by natural calamities left and right, and most of these people are left with nothing, with no means or idea how they could get back on their feet. usually, their respective governments or help coming from the outside would give aid. i guess thats where survivor actually came from. amazing race where you try to find your way around the globe and try to live in a different environment your not familiar with. well, having said that, think about this: what if a catastrophic event happens one day, like a second ice age, and leaves everyone flat footed. the planet getting back at us. will you survive on your own? it's not a group thing. you're on your own. how many people do you think can survive out of the 8 billion people in this world? well, maybe less than 8 billion, if the catastrophe pretty much wiped out a good number of us, affected the weather, crops, food shortage and of course tensions and that "survival of the fittest" instinct. you know what i think? i'll probably last for a good number of weeks, trying to get food where and when i can, finding shelter and the means to make one, thinking of ways to actually survive, but if situations are really that bad, like a radiation thing caused by weather changes, i'll probably end up dead. my guess is, around 1/4 of the world would survive. barely. how about you? what do you think are your chances? remember, you're on your own and everyone is trying to do the same thing as you. everyman for himself.
