Many times I have observed that people keeping the engine running at traffic lights irrespective of the duration of the signal. Some people have their aircon running and they think they can't live without it. Some people think the frequent strating and stopping of the engine will reduce its life. I, habitually, will switch off the AC and kill the engine if I think the lights would not change for at least 20 seconds. What do you people normally do?

Well most of the time i do. But in India you never know which signals is gonna start when. Also the time indicators doesn't shows the proper time. Well and at any point of time if your engines are off and the lights go green then thats a real issue here. People behind you wont waste a single damn minute standing behind you. Anyways Thanks Cheers!!

You are absolutely right. The time on the indicators is definitely an issue and I think the authorities should look into the matter seriously. Imagine the amount of fuel that can be saved by the nation if only the indicators showed correct time. And also it will reduce the global warming by reducing the pollution levels. Maybe the governments should look into ways of doing away with signals maybe by constructing more flyovers or maybe multi level crossovers. You are very right about your observation about our people at signals. If you have a stalled engine when the light goes green, they immediately start blaring away at the horns and will glare at you as if you are the lowest scum of the earth. You have to be careful about that. Thanks for the reply.
