I am a 21 year old female drummer although haven't drummed for a few years. However, it is still very much a dream of mine to be a drummer/percussionist for a musical. I am more into the raw rhythm of drumming rather than rock etc. My biggest drummnig influence is Lion King the musical. It would be my dream of all dreams to be one of the percussionists for a musical like that. I completely understand that there are many percussionists in the biz whom treat drumming as their full time profession and my chances of ever achieving my main dream is very very small, however, I am interested into how someone could go about getting into the musician side of theatre productions as I have found very little. I know that I am not the best drummer in the world but it is my inner passion and when I listen to any form (I love blue man group and stomp) it gets my heart racing and I have never been happier in my life than when I was drumming for the musical productions through school and sixth form.
