I am trying to find out, where can you go to download music for free that will not slow down your computer (i.e. limewire, frostwire etc..).

I used to download free music from Kazaa.com but I found out there are a lot of viruses and spyware on that site and it does more harm than good. I would avoid that site if possible unless they have made changes to it recently. I also used to download from Napster.com but you have to pay now. There should not be any legal sites now where you can download music for free because of laws passed that protect musicians and bands from losing money that way.

Bit Comet is a tiny little program that you can have running in the background. Check out Piratebay and isohunt for nearly anything you might want.
