Do you have any wii stories to tell? My 11-year-old son loves his Xbox and would love to have a wii. I have to admit, I would kind of like to have one myself. However, looking at the website - www.wiihaveaproblem - and seeing all the wii accidents people have had which resulted in bodily injury and destruction to home furniture, I'm not sure if it is a good idea.

Yea it's pretty funny to watch people get hurt like that. Anyways i gotta say that the wii is completely safe if you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. And at the same time i think Nintendo recalled all the wiistraps for thicker ones. Anyways i've been looking for a wii every week since it launched and all i found was i think a total of 10 PS3s which was surprsing. don't be paranoide, go to your local EB games/Gamestop and try the wii there, then you can say 'ill take it!'

I would say that the accidents are a bit sensationalized. Yes you are moving around, but our kids do that anyway, so I'm not sure a Wii would make that much difference. Actually I think that's a good thing-- I'd rather have them moving around and exercising a bit than sitting there not moving.

That is true. Better to exercise your whole body than just your thumbs! I've given you a + rating.

The Wii sounds like alot of fun , and i hate video games, but i want one of these. as far as problems go.... doesn't every video game have some risk? whether it be physical or mental... you just have to weigh the risks.

Got my 6 year old son a Wii for christmas and we have pretty much played it consistently from then. Great fun and absolutely no problems at all...just make sure that the wrist strap attached to the controller is wrapped tightly on your wrist and you'll be fine...by the way, it really is a lot of fun...I highly recommend it

okay.... I have a wii and have seen pictures. Trust me, it doesnt happen alot. Look at the thousands of people who have wii and only the few who got hurt. If you strap tight nothing will happen and if you stay a little bit away from eachother and dont get mad, thats when it might get bad.Wii is good, and like any other console it can be bad in ways, butthis is rare to happen and with other systems it could be violence and bad language stuck in their head. Good Luck!
