I want to do the best I can for myself and others here at mylot, I'm still on the learning curve of how the system works. When I start a discussion and go back to read a response, I rate it +/- right now how does that rating effect me and the person who left the response? Also, when I respond to a response does that help me or harm me - I ask because I noticed that when I leave a response to a response in my profile is my name for response- does mylot count that response in your total or ignore it--do they give you points for responding to a response? I get confused because I read similar posted?'s and get conflicting answers can any one explain it me? How do you know if someone has rated your posts to their discussions? Any extra info. you would like to contribute would be appreciated -- Thanks again everyone for your patience with me.:)

One thing that I don't think the poster above me commented on was the last question you asked. I don't believe that there is any way to know if someone has rated your posts unless they tell you that they have. I wish that there were a way! It would be so cool to know how many plus ratings one gets in a day! ^_^ Anyway, please do continue to rate with plusses when appropriate! It helps us all to earn! ^_^

Thank you!! you have been rated. I agree it would be nice to have a way to know how you are being rated -- even if they just gave you a total it would help -- I understand why they may not want to show you what each individual poster rated so that its fair and someone isn't bias against another etc. etc. if someone did rate them with a - or didn't choose their comment as the best -- but I don't think it would hurt for mylot to give us a daily total in our earnings page, just a thought :)

I am also fairly new to mylot but I will try to help you with some of your questions. When you start a discussion try to add a picture relating to your discussion. When you reply to a discussion it increases your posts which helps your earnings. (Currently you have 68 posts) If you add a comment--it does not increase your posts but it could add some additional "info" to the discussion. We should rate all responses we come across in a discussion. + meaning it relates to the discussion--even if the respondent does not necessary agree with the person who created that discussion.Gotta look at all view points for a good discussion. - should only be used if that person has a one word response or their posts has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion at hand. ! should only be used if copy and paste rules were broken or if the post is some sort of spam. This is to report abuse of the mylot rules and regulations. When you are responding in a discussion try to reply in a few sentences and don't create a discussion with one word answers. The other thing is to always tag your replies. It helps to sort out the discussion in the search feature. The search feature is a terrific tool to look at discussions before you came on board to see if someone had the exact same questions as you do. I hope this helps in some way to clear a little confusion.

Thank you it sure does help me out -- I appreciate the information on the search -- I get embarrassed when I start a discussion only to find afterward someone has recently post the same type of question or discussion - I will begin searching my thoughts first :) thank you.

They appreciate that because it shows a good general appearence in the forum and they count it in favour. But ratings don't change anything. The ratings next to your name could rise or drop for nothing. Don't pay attention. Try to show good behaviour and read the guidelines.

Thanks for the advice, I'm curious though why would the rating next to my name drop? Because of a negative rating on a response? So if I have 10 responses and 9 have been rated with a "+" and one with a "-", then instead of a total of 10 I would only reflect 9. Am I understanding you correctly?

I can't really contribute any helpful information to the post, but I can extend my thanks. I am still learning, as well, and the information in here and from others is helping me.
