Have you ever been a VICTIM of a crime?

Over the years I've had my house broken into twice, my rental storage space emptied, been frauded financially a few thousand dollars, pets stolen and my car deliberately damaged. People are horrid and very few of these crimes got compensation. How did you deal with it?

I was molested as a five year old. I was also the victim of phone fraud, i.e. someone took my phone number, ran it up insanely and then took off, leaving me with a nearly $700 phone bill. Thankfully, I had proof that I didn't live at the residents that housed my 'old' phone number, so I didn't have to pay the bill.

i'm really sorry to hear that... for me, although it's only a little case compare to you, i'm still kinda angry 'cause my cell phone was stolen, but i think that was because of my carelessness Now,I hope that I'll never be a victim crime again (na'udzubillah)

Anything small to large is a crime when it was taken without your permission.

I have had my shed broken into and vandelized, but oddly enough nothing was stolen. On Thanksgiving a couple years ago my purse was stolen at the store, and they took my money for Christmas shopping, all of my credit cards and my military id. I was really heart broken that someone could take my purse that time of year when I was going shopping for my kids. Oh well, what goes around comes around.

I was raped as a virgin at the age of 15. My husband's and my aprtment were broken into while I was home and hubby was not. My children were babies at the time. They stole a laptop that had the first 3 chapters of my master's thesis on it. No back up. They also stole clothes. My car was stole off the street and recovered and completely trashed. Someone stol my debit card 2 weeks before Xmas and emptied our account, mostly at Walmart. I haven't been back in 3 years. I have a VERY unusual last name and the card was used 5 times within an hour at the same Walmart. The back recouped our money for us. Nothing happened to the rest.
