Do you think the "Standard" (Midwestern that sound like the accent used by Walter Cronkite) has evolved and changed since 60s and 70s? When I watch movies from 60s or 70s, I think American accent sounds a little stilted and somewhat different. It could be beause of the differenct style of acting we had back then. What do you think?

I think that is has changed. I've also noticed that actors in older movies, especially men, seem to possess something different in their voices. I've never been able to put my finger on it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who's wondered!
