Freddie died about 15 years ago. But even that can't stop Queen from being voted as the best UK Band ever ( yes, they beat Beatles ). The question is: but what if Freddie Mercury was still alive? How all this would be?

Good question. If he lived on how long would he have carried on performing? Would he be as good 15 years on? Similarly if the Beatles carried on til the mid eighties would they be as good? The rolling stones are still going and while maybe their newest material will never be as good as some of their best work (ie "Exile on Main Street" "let it bleed" etc) they can still knock out a great perfomance. I look forward to reading some more comments.

Yeah, probably Queen , with the age, would lose some "Power" on performing. But we look Rolling Stones, and we ask ourselfs how would it be if Freddie hadn't be stupid, taking AIDS, and be living now-a-days. And the magic of their music: I think it wouldn't be lost. Of course, it's hard to keep a good quality, but I think they were a band to keep it

It's kind of hard to say. No one really knows... I think perhaps the meaningful music that was alive in that era might have carried on a little longer, though. I don't think there are many bands around today who have members who perform with the energy that Freddie did.
