Within moments of the video clip hitting the internet I took a look. I can honestly say I am still experiencing the ripple effect of what I saw, especially when it is still all over the news. Frankly I found the clip and the whole event rather barbaric. I guess I just don't agree with the death penalty for several reasons, that of which I will withhold at this time as I don't want this to turn into a contraversal post. Just interested in what others feel about the whole event surrounding the execution of Saddam in general. Not the death penalty persay. Nor the reasons behind why the sentence was given. Simply how do you feel about the event? I strongly feel that there are ways to find a different punishment that fits the crime than the death penalty. In my opinion it is murder regardless of the reasons the sentence was given. Would life in prison without parole not be a more worthy punishment?

that tape really messed my head up...especially at the end where they showed the look on his face..they couldve locked him up somewhere by himself and restricted him from talking to anybody..they didnt have to taked it to that extreme..killing him like that will not bring the people he had a hand in killing back..

Dido, me too. Now the half brother and the execution botched. How barbaric. I wasn't even over what they did to Saddam, now the others. Planned murder is 1st degree. You are right a wrong doesn't make a right and nothing is going to bring those people back. A Life Sentence would of been called for if I were running Iraq.

I totally agree with you.Despite all the bad things he did, he didn't deserve that. They could have kept him locked up somewhere, or..something else.
