If you like high crime, traffic, rude people. If you want to be able to drink at all hours of the day or night, see shows with naked women, and gamble. If you like temperatures that range from 25 degrees to 120 degrees, then come to Vegas. Personally, I'm looking for a small town, something with culture, history and a sense of community, close to shopping and a decent sized airport. Sorry, that probably didn't help you much. I guess what I'm trying to say, is before someone can recomment a good place to live, you'd have to give us some idea of what you consider "good."

I understand fully. I have family where you live and it is a horrible town. I am your neighbor in Columbus, not a bad town actually. The best place I have ever lived was Pensacola Florida. If I was you I would check out texas, or Florida. If you want to stay in MS., then Jackson, Clinton, Brandon, or Hattiesburg is good. Starkville is good too. So many to choose from.

Texas and Tennsee don't have state income tax and the housing is unbelievably cheap! My brother is looking at a 4 bdrm 3bath home on 10 acres for $89,000.00 in TN. I would stay away from big towns like Memphis, or Austin. Too much crime. Best of luck.
