Why does the Vatican allow their churches to be adorned with images and portraits? Do we really need these just to pray and be heard from 'The One' from above? Are we following what the bible tells us? What are your views about this?..

I think they are way to much about money and power and should lay off the gold and jewels for a while, we dont need that kind of stuff to worship only a gathering of belivers.

You're right about that. I think that most of them are as the same as those Pharisees and Sadducees that Jesus encountered during His time, the one's whom want Jesus be killed because they are getting more afraid that people wpuld turn their backs on them..

I've wondered about this too. I mean, one of the TEN COMMANDMENTS says not to make any graven images. And you can explain that away all you want about it not being other gods or whatever, but the commandment doesn't specify that it has to be another god. It just says don't do it. The money is another issue. I love a beautiful work of art as much as anybody else, and have visited massive cathedrals and have enjoyed it from an art-lover's perspective. But from a Christian perspective it leaves me wondering about humility, benevolence, service, and all those other things.
