Should household expenses be paid by husband alone.

I have just join Mylot and saw that there are different countries members. I am curious how different country's perception on should husband be the one paying the household (assuming income able to support) even though the wife may has comfortable income.In Singapore,most are household expense are shared by both husband and wife even though husband may be earning to sustain a family.
