I love gardening and grow horseradish, it flowers pretty in the spring and grows to be about two feet high, dark green.. You can dig it up and leave a part of the root in the ground and it will come back up every year. I live in Minnesota and it grows well here. I use it for home made cocktail sause and pickles.. Oh and bloodymary mix! What do you use horseradish for? Everytime I see a root in the grocery store I wonder if I can grow it :-)

You are lucky to have a garden to grow vegetables. I live in an apartment and I only have a small porch with little sunlight so I can only grow potted plants. About horseradish, I wonder if it's similar to the Japanese 'wasabi'? It has a pungent smell and a tongue-prickling taste that goes well with raw seafood. I read from a science book that you can grow carrot by embedding the cut-off top portion of the root in soil and leaving the green above. I tried and ended up with lots of ants trying to bring my poor carrot home.

Hello there I love good fresh horseradish. As a kid it was my job to grind it all up but it was worth the work because I can't think of anything I like better with a nice roast of beef. Mmmmmm We were at an anniversary party and my son took horseradish for coleslaw and put a whole spoonful in his mouth. I thought his eyes were going to pop with out of his head. Well he survived but it was quite an eye opener. :)
