Anyone here still play old games. what is your favourite older game and why do you still like it? And has anyone younger started playing games that were before their time, and what do you think of them?

I still have my super nintendo and sega systems. My favorite games to play are Super Mario Brothers Allstar and Sonic. What can I say, they're addictive.

Take a look at my posting pic LOL Defender is my fave of all time..the fantastic start sound that let everyone in the arcade know you had started. Mind you, at first that meant that in 5 seconds they could look over and watch me lose my 3rd life ! Eugene Jarvis, the creator of Defender, had a good idea of what would work and what wouldn't, considering the limitations of the technology of the time...same goes for the early Taito or Capcom titles. Maybe big gaming studios have lost a lot of the spark that came from single idea, single developer games. I restore arcade cabinets and own several games..Defender, Asteroids, Atari 720, Super Pacman, Silk Worm etc. All amazingly good retro fun. As for anyone younger playing the games. My youngest daughter Emma got so hooked on DigDug that i gave her a laptop running a version of it for while she was back with her mum hehe. Her fave game of all time is Wonderboy, which she started playing in an arcade in Rhyl, England when she was about 6 . Why does she like them ? cos they are immediately playable :)

Ahh yes the imfamous arcade machine, truly the height of gaming ideas (not to mention money making, those things rake in a fortune), Although not having been around long enough to have played the likes of pacman or asteroids in arcades, I remember playing metal slug and being instantly hooked, till i run out of money that is ;)

Hello rekkusu! I love old games like Super Mario,Maro bros and Sonic(for sega). I have Mario on my PC and I still play this game :). I know that many people don't like old games cus of grapfics, but I think that some of the old games have really good gameplay and they are more interesting than the new games. But it's my opinion.

I must admit, I still enjoy Pac-man. And playing Super Mario Bros. on the plain old Nintendo is one of my few happy family memories, so I'm pretty attached to that game too. My husband and I buy those "Namco Musuem" games... they have a lot of good old stuff on them. I love playing Pole Position still, and DigDug will always be a favorite. =)

well i'm still sort of hooked to Dr. Mario, cuz it's just going head to head with my sisters, who're not really gamers, and that's all they do play. that's the only addictive old game for me.

I collect old video games. My favorite console is mega drive. However I sold it some time ago. I still have one very old console from 70´s which is quite rare Polycon PG-7. Unfortunately it´s impossible to find games and it has no power cord.
