Youtube blocked from our university

Youtube was bllocked in our university so that no one from within the campus can access the site.
This was done because streaming at youtube often caused heavy traffic and heavy bandwidth consumption.
the admin said that they did what they did because a lot of people access the site and more often than not, open mutiple video streams that eat too much bandwidth. This much-needed bandwidth could have been used for more productive activities.
