My boyfriend has a ring worm type rash just above his elbow on his upper arm. It dissapears in the summer and it super itchy and red during the winter. Does anyone know any ways to cure it? or another diagnosis? cortisone creams seem to work but would rather not use steroid based treatments.

Aswith any fungus, you can always apply tea tree oil which can be found at your local wal mart. This will take care of it in a hurry. I would apply it both morning and evening. When h takes a shower, he should not be in the water any longer than needed, and he should not rubbed the skin to dry..but pat it dry. That will help a lot. If he has ezcema he should then immediately apply some kind of moisturizer like cetaphil or neutrogena. Those are some of the best. I and my children all have ezcema...if I tan mine goes away within 3-5 treatments. But I dont know if he would be open to that. I also use a good moisturizer...but if it is ringworm I would use the tea tree oil it works GREAT!!! Good luck. :)
