Dog eyes

I have a yorkie and his eyes run. After a couple days of not maintaining it it hardens on his coat until i use soap to clean it. If your animal have this same problem, should I take him to the vet and is there anything that you use for your pet to wash his coat if his eyes run.

I would take it to the vet to be safe .Some times long hair can irritate the eyes also I would try to trim or get that trimed .If the dog has eyes problems trimming this hair would help anyway and would be easier to medicate the eyes .

I have a short haired little dog (he's a miniature pinscher) and his eyes run sometimes. I asked the vet if there was anything wrong with him, and they said no. I think it all depends on the pup, and it's probably a good idea to take him to the vet. Since I know my pup is okay, i use dog cleaning cloths (I found them at target) They are kinda like baby wipes for your dog. I clean his eyes everyday, and never allow it to harden.
