What kind of oil do you use to fry foods? Growing up everything was done in vegetable oil but lately I try to use olive oil because it is better for you.

currently i am using two oils in my kitchen... for cooking i use olive oil and for deep fry anything( if necessary) then i use canola oil. yeah you are right Olive oil is really healthy for one self. Amazingly it will lower the bad cholestrol and increase the good one. So over all it is good for you.

I find the flavour of olive oil overpowers many dishes. I prefer canola oil as it is virtually tasteless and low cholesterol. Yes, olive oil is supposed to be better for you, but I don't fry a lot so prefer not to taste the poilve oil if I don't have to.

I also use coconut oil. I started using olive oil when I lived in Spain. I rarely use veggtable oil anymore.

When I fry stuff (which isn't all that often) I use extra virgin olive oil. Course, I never deep fry -- just stir fry or pan fry.

extra virgin olive oil. If I'm making eggs or something I try to use the Crisco Olive Oil Spray. Veggies are always steamed though.

Yes, I hear that olive oil is good for frying food, but we still use coconut oil for frying our foods.

I use olive oil these days. I read somewhere that it is healthier for you. I used to use vegetable oil and even corn oil. It really has a lot to do with what I am cooking. My first choice is olive oil though. I had considered coconut oil but that is too expensive for me. The good old days I used to use butter.

We normally use ground nut oil to cook food. But recently we switched to Sun flower oil because it is free from fat.

I agree that it is much better to use olive oil whenever possible. My family mostly steams instead of fries foods, because it is much more healthy. We eat steamed vegtables on a daily basis, which I think is great! ^_^ We try to stay away from most fried foods, although I must say that I miss having certain fried foods in my diet.. but I am sure that for my health's sake, it is a good thing! ^_^
