When I am on internet I have no problem speaking my mind. I wish I could transfer a little of that courage into my real life. Anyone else have this problem?

You and me both. Online I can do anything. I can speak my mind, tell people how I feel, stand up for what I believe in what have you but in real life? That is a whole other story. I am often the quite one sitting off alone and I just listen to everyone else. It usually takes something really important for me to spout off on how I feel. I have to either be really angry about it or believe in it a lot. One of the two and even then I can be hesitant or find it difficult to get what I mean out.

Yes! *laugh* Man, oh man, do I ever have the same problem. Although I'm not totally fearless online, I am a _lot_ more bold. Also, writing here on Mylot is getting me to feel more open about expressing my opinions. I have a very shy personality and can barely speak in real life situations, but I can go on and on when I'm typing online *laugh* But I have still become shy even online in the last few years and Mylot is really opening me up again. I also have resolved to become less shy in 2007! ^_^ It has been hard being so incredibly shy for basically my entire life, and I really need to get out into the real world more.

It is always easier to be articulate in writing. In emails, or in blogs, or in forums...you are a faceless person and that makes it easier to be forceful, or confident, or strong. If someone confronts you, they are not in your face and if you want to, you can ignore them by not answering their attacks. That's a little difficult to do in person.
