Why I know that which number you guessed!

Hello now I will try my magic and I will guess that which number you thought.Lets start.
First of all you think a number between $1-10 in your mind.Ok now add same amount in the number suppose your friend has given you same amount (e.g if you thought a number 2 then add 2 more for your friends so total number will be 4 ).Now add $10 in total for me that as I have given you $10.Now give half of the total to charity.Return money of your friend to himself (that is subtract his amount).
Now you will have $5 left.Isn't it.I have got it.
