There was a ban on drilling for oil in Alaska due to the amount of wildlife and previous accidents but the main one led to 500 gallons of crude oil leaking into a sanctuary of endangered whales because of a poor weld. So I have just one question, what the hell is wrong with the president? he certainly does not win hearts among people!

I do not know who you are, or whether you live in alaska, but all i can say is how dare the Bush Baby exploit this beautiful langscape and endanger so many species, for the gain of his own kind. This is evil and surely the reswt of the world should stand up and oppose this move. No i have never visited Alaska but i intend to in the future, not just on holiday, but maybe to live there and i do not want to destroy something which should be kept sacred for all our futures.

Give me a source for the 500 gallon oil leak, I haven't heard about that. Until I see a source I won't believe it. Anyways, its like 100 acres they want to drill on. So what? 100 acres on a place the size of half the country? Did you know there is already a massive oil station on the north Alaskan coast there already? The pipelines were supposed to interfere with Caribou but the Caribou are growing and thriving regardless.

Well thank you for the response I don't really care what you believe or feel the need to convince you but if you like to read the article then here you go. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6246903.stm

So its true. Thank you. I don't care what anyone on MyLot thinks either, TBH this isn't a great place for intellectual debate. But generally you can be expected to post a source when starting a topic about a news item.

If you think the people here are really that interested (to look it up by themselves), you'd be wrong, hahaha. They aren't.
