hp and emissions

does anyone know what the rated hp for the 305 that came with the 84 monte carlo ss? also i want to take all the emissions stuff off and replace the intake manifold and the q-jet carb. i haven't decided on the intake manifold but i'll be installing a holley 600. my questions are that will doing this take the computer control completely away? will i get the engine light? and if this doesn't take away from the computer, is it worth it to install a performance chip. this car is my daily driver and is in great shape. i'm just cleaning her up a bit and i want to dress up the engine a little and add a little more power. any advise will be greatly appreciated.
