Engagement break-up..

i think that the short answer is NO, it was given as a gift and gift arent taken back. If she decided that she doesnt want any reminders of the relationship then she may give it back. Why did the engagement break up? was it mutual or did the female or male cheat? If she cheated then yeah i think it is fair to ask for ring back. She would have betrayed the commitmetn she made in accepting the ring.

If he paid for it than I see nothing wrong with asking for the ring back or if it came from a family member than she should hand the ring back over to him. Although I do not see why either one would want to hang on to it since what it represented is now broken.

I also think it's very silly too,if she knows this,how would she think?
