some friends and myself were having a discussion (in the real world) about their phobias.
it appeared that everyone - no matter how butch had a number of real phobias not just dislikes. These went beyond the norm of say, spiders and the like and proved to be a real insight even into the lives of people i have known for years and would consider true friends.
anybody got any freaky phobias out there they would like to share? let it out. totally non-judgemental.
eg; aibohpphobia is a fear of palindromes.

I am absolutely terrified of thunder storms - they call it brontophobia. Luckily I live in the UK - our weather is very temperate and we probably only get one storm a year, but I still spend most of the Summer watching the weather forecasts and worrying sbout it. I'm evern scared of seeing lightening or hearing tunder in a movie or on TV and I could never live in a country where storms are more commonplace.

I'm afraid of crowds. I have a real tough time going to malls, stores, doctor's offices, even driving can be a problem if the lanes are crowded. I try to stay away as much as possible which means I stay home a lot or I drive others and I stay in the car. I get a lot of reading done though in the car or a lot done on here when I stay home still there are times I wish I could go to a movie theater without worry or go shopping and not have a panic attack.
