Does using urine on your face clear up acne?

I've had several friends tell me that washing your face with your urine can clear up acne. One insisted that her doctor told her to do it. It sounds gross. My question is does it actually work?

2% salicylic acid is a good treatment for acne. It works! Check out the before and after pic on http://www.skincareteacher.com/tipsal

Ughhh, girl it's not that serious. I have heard of that theory also. I wouldn't try it though. I currently use AMBI new product. I think it works well on my skin. If you have severe acne proble then you should try proactiv. I think that is a good product!

Good evening. I have not tried using urine, as I just can't bring myself to do it! (I do know that urine is for the most part a sterile substance, unless one has a urinary tract or kidney infection.) It is full of vitamins and minerals, as that is where the excess minerals and vitamins that the body doesn't need are filtered! There are countless people who swear by the effectiveness of urine for acne. Also, it is considered good for athlete's foot, bee stings, and to remove the sting from jellyfish stings (remember the Survivor episode where the one contestant had the other contestant (who was a nurse) to urinate on his jellyfish sting?!) I have posted a few websites for you to read more! http://www.ablentrust.com/urine_therapy.htm http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/urine.htm
