2 questions: Is this a place for humans to discuss what is of interest or is important to them? Does religion ever fit in those categories? We all like to write about thise things which interest us or are of importance to us, they ground us, give us the chance to find others like ourselves, they enable us to find common ground. So is this a place to discuss religion? Guess so!

I guess so, too! Religion seems to be of importance to a great number here on myLot, whether they practice it or not.

i think its important that we do discuss religion here on mylot. Mylot provides a forum by which we may learn to understand about others cultures and beliefs therefore i think it is vital that we continue to discuss all topics freely. There is no need for anyone to be defensive, just because someone holds different beliefs doesnt make them right and you wrong it just means we have a rich diversity of belief on mylot, and long may it remain so, blessed be

I agree Eskarena. I have enjoyed many discussions, all intelligent and courteous. I have not come across any where there has been abusive language.

Yes, religion should be discussed here on myLot, just as any other topic should be discussed - unless of course, we are talking about abuse. I am a Christian and I am enthusiastic about my beliefs. God is very real in my life and I can do nothing BUT talk of what He has done for me, and of how much the Lord Jesus Christ means to me. My life is Christ and I make no apologies for that. There isn't much I can talk about without referring to Him and the way He has helped me. On myLot, I have enjoyed lengthy discussions with atheists, agnostics, pagans, and Muslims. These discussions have all been intelligent and courteous. There has been debate, but no abusive or derogatory remarks. We enjoy a free exchange of ideas here, and we learn from one another. We learn to appreciate what makes others tick. In fact my best friends here on myLot are NOT Christians. I do not take part in discussions that I would prefer NOT to see on myLot. I can't help but notice them as I scroll through the discussions, and I wish they were not there, BUT they have their rights and I would not deny them that right. They have as much right to discuss their interests as I have to discuss mine. If you would prefer not to see this type of discussion, the answer is simple. Just scroll past them as I do over the ones I consider below standard.

i think theres nothing wrong in discussing about religion. its wrong only when people start bad mouthing about others religion. if the discussion is strictly upto its level and did not move on to a fight then theres no wrong in it.

It's a great place to discuss Religion, it's nice to learn new things, or discuss things that you might not be to sure of, or express your opinion. It is sad that so many get offended by others opinion about it. We all are different and if people dont like talking about certain topics then no one forces them to read it.
